The day started off sunny, then the clouds moved in and by late the afternoon I heard the rumbling of thunder.

Did a few morning chores around the house, made up a list for the commissary and headed out the door. They are still working on some of the roads on the base and had to take the detour route. I didn't follow the signs because I thought I knew a better way but my way didn't work out so good. I went on another small tour of the base. :-) I finally made it to the commissary and got my shopping done. Not many people there today - I'm thinking they are out buying school clothes.

I put the groceries away when I got home and had some lunch. I ate some cottage cheese and I usually put some fruit in it, but today I mixed raisins in with it. I've never done that before and don't know what made me try it, but it tasted really good!!

After lunch I went outside and washed the FJ. I didn't really feel like doing it but once I got started I didn't mind and after I was done and it looked nice and clean was glad I did it. I even whisked the inside and wiped it down with a damp cloth. I just got finished when I heard thunder so I put the FJ right in the middle of the car port so when the rain came it would stay dry. I had to move it later though when it was raining so it wouldn't be in the way when Kenny came home. So the FJ got a bit wet after all. Oh well, it's only water.

I made a new recipe for dinner tonight called Lemon-asparagus Chicken with Dill. It was easy to make and we both liked it enough for me to make it again sometime. I've already added it to Happyone'sCookbook so if would like to try it, just click on the recipe name above the picture.

I finished reading 7th Heaven by James Patterson.
I liked it as much as the other 6 books in this series. There are two cases to solve in this book. Where is the son of a previous governor who has disappeared with out a trace and who is burning down houses leaving the owners to die in the fires? A good story with a few surprises. This is a library book and I got the large print one because it was the only one available.

My snack tonight was ice cream again and we watched Steven Wright which came in the mail today from Netflix. We also got Roots which we will start tomorrow. Steven Wright has some funny one liners but I don't find him all that funny.

I'm starting another book tonight - Lisey's Story by Stephen King.

That's about it for today.

There's so many books that I want to read, but I never do. I seem to go in spurts.

I kind of miss your sunset reports, although this time of year it's kind of depressing because the days are getting shorter and shorter.

I like some of Stephen Wright's quotes, but his voice puts me to sleep. Maybe I should buy his DVD for those sleepless nights. Hmmm.

Anyway, that chicken looks fantastic. I LOVE asparagus and so does my husband, so I'll have to check out the recipe later.

Happy Friday!

You're one of the busiest people I know in addition to being one of the happiest. Think there's a connection?

I love a good thunderstorm. I grew up in Iowa where we frequently had them. Here is Idaho it's a rare treat to get a real good thunderstorm. I'm reading Sail by James Patterson. I haven't read his works before but really like him as a writer so far. Thanks for your uplifting comments on my blog. You are such an awesome lady.
